Wood shop
As promised here is a look at an attempt at carving an acoustic archtop belly. I am proud of what I learned, but it doesn't make the cut for actually being an instrument. So instead of joining all my other attempts in the garage I turned it into a cool accent piece for the music studio. I won't venture to call it 'art'! its just really cool.
Description: A soft wood similar to Spruce. Carved acoustic belly, cut in half and made into a nice accent piece. Finished in Linseed oil and bound with white plastic on the immaculate side. Mahogany stain finish and ebony wood putty on the distressed side. The distressed side has a hole and crack in the upper bout. The sound holes are bound with white plastic as well.

I would sell this piece if I could get a Kindle 4 out of the deal...
